Unity of Faiths Offering – Vishaal Satsang 2016

Traditionally, the calendar year of the Sathya Sai Organisation in Trinidad & Tobago begins with the ‘Vishaal Satsang’, bringing together members from all regions and centres to the Sai Nilayam in Longdenville. This year, embracing the universality of Swami’s message and example, the SSIO T&T used this opportunity to start the year with an inter-faith devotional offering on January 31st. Eminent guests representing the major religions were invited to share core values and tenets of their faith that unify humanity through peace and love.

Bishop Daniel, along with gospel singers from his church, shared an uplifting talk from the Bible. Imam Yamin Ali-Baksh shared inspiration from the Quran along with melodious qaseedas, and Sri Ravi Bharati expounded on Hindu philosophy, accompanied by Veda chanting.

Swami’s discourse highlighted the importance of celebrating the glory of God through the different faiths, and the principle of ‘Fatherhood of God and Brotherhood of Man’.

National and regional teams of SSIO T&T officers were introduced to the entire Sai family gathered, proposed initiatives for 2016 were shared, and the offering culminated with multi-faith devotional songs.

“Let the different faiths exist, let them flourish, let the glory of God be sung in all languages in a variety of tunes. That should be the ideal.” – Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba
