May 6th every year is celebrated as Easwaramma Day, in commemoration of the saintly lady who was blessed to be the mother of Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Mother Easwaramma was very fond of children and was one of the pioneers of the Bal Vikas movement. As fate would have it, this day coincides closely with Mother’s Day.

The significance of the day is that it is celebrated as Children’s Day, a day when little children are to be reminded of the ideal, a day when she (Mother Easwaramma) presented an ideal – Sathya Sai Baba, May 6, 1983.
